Silicon Valley as Innovation Landscape

This visual essay takes readers to Silicon Valley in the summer of 2016. We encountered nothing but confidence in the prospect of reaping huge profits while changing the world for the better. This landscape reflected the core values of the major tech companies Apple, Google, and Facebook in much the same way that certain historic cities grow out of a dominant religious system. In Silicon Valley the underlying thought system was what I am calling the Innovation Ideology. Even here at its peak of influence we could feel real tension as to how these companies that live on our screens should be manifested in physical space.
