We stopped for a look at the grounds of the Our Lady of Martyrs Shrine, alerted to its presence by a blue sign listing some attractions at the next exit. At the heart of the site was this coliseum, built in 1930 at the location of the Mohawk village where three Jesuits were martyred a full 300 years earlier.
